Hey Diddle Diddle…

Last Thursday, during our discussion at the American Corner, I was asked about rhymes from my childhood, so I mentioned the famous nursery rhyme “Hey Diddle Diddle”. It is quite psychedelic when you think about it.

Well, it turns out that there was a Soviet version too. This cartoon was released in 1978….

Ice City

It was pretty cold when I got back but then started to warm up again (by Russian standards). I took these photos on a particularly cold day. No matter how many winters I see here, I don’t think I will ever get used to seeing ice enduring for so long.
